Features

• For use with natural gas and LP gas only
• Always follow ALL building and plumbing codes during installation
• Use only black gas pipe, and secure piping every five feet or less
• Remove and debris from male and female threads before connecting
• Always use a pipe joint compound or PTFE pipe thread tape (that is approved for use with natural or LP gases) on all connections to seal threads

Keyed Gas Valve Installation Instructions

• Turn off the gas line to the firebox, if necessary, the main gas line
• Determine which side of the firebox the valve will be installed. Drill a 1-1/4" hole for the flange and valve. Thread the valve into the flange from below the floor or behind the wall
• Run 1/2" RIGID has pipe from the valve, and extend approximately 3-1/2" into the firebox if coming from the side, or 1-1/2" if coming from below. Cap off firebox stub with treaded 1/2" cap.
• Run 1/2" gas pipe from the gas source to a 1/2" lever type ball valve. (This valve is not the same as the HeartMaster valve)
• Run 1/2" gas pipe from the lever-type ball valve to a 1/2" gas pipe union
• Run 1/2" gas pipe from the HearthMaster valve to the union, and thread union together. Test all newconnections with a liquid leak detector.
